TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Jacksonville University women's soccer team fell to No. 24 Florida State, 3-1, Tuesday evening in non-conference soccer action. Junior Inge Heiremans (Tremelo, Belgium) scored her 11th goal of the season for the Dolphins, while senior Vanessa Illanes (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) notched her 12th assist. The Dolphins suffered only their second loss of the season as they fall to 13-2-2 overall.

The game remained scoreless until the 17th minute when Florida State's Jez Ratliff scored on a header to give the Seminoles a 1-0 lead. JU came right back two minutes later as Illanes set up Heiremans from about 20 yards out and her shot hit the far post and found the back of the net to tie the game 1-1.

With the game tied 1-1, the Seminoles' Cindy Schofield scored two-straight goals in the final 15 minutes of the first period to give Florida State a 3-1 lead at the half. In the second half, JU was unable to take advantage of any opportunities and the Seminoles held on for the win. Sophomore Stephanie Fowler (Seffner, Fla.) recorded four saves as the Dolphins had their 15-game unbeaten streak snapped.

JU looks to wrap up the A-Sun regular-season title when they travel to Boca Raton on Saturday to take on the Florida Atlantic Owls at 7 p.m. in a game that will determine the A-Sun regular-season champ.
