BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - Sophomore forward Ranveig Aas-Hanssen (Skien, Norway) scored her A-Sun leading 20th goal of the season, but Gardner-Webb scored a pair of second-half goals to defeat the Dolphins, 4-1, Saturday in A-Sun women's soccer action. Leeanna Woodworth led the Bulldogs with two goals and an assist. JU falls to 6-11, 4-5 in the A-Sun, while Gardner-Webb improves to 7-7-1, and 4-4-1 in conference play.

The Bulldogs got on the board in the fourth minute as Jenny Henderlight took a cross from Lindsey Gladhill and put the ball away from close range on the right side. Gardner-Webb added another goal in the 33rd minute when Woodworth sent a corner kick into the box that Jessica Lane headed back to Catherine Kobelka, who then scored on the play from 20 yards out to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 halftime lead.

JU responded in the 51st minute when Aas-Hanssen took a cross from senior midfielder Inge Heiremans (Tremelo, Belgium) and scored from inside the box. Woodworth scored both goals in the second half to secure the win for Gardner-Webb.

Sophomore Amber Otto (DeLand, Fla.) and senior Sarah Scalese (Brewster, Mass.) each played 45 minutes in goal, combining for four saves, while Hilary George recorded 14 saves for the Bulldogs.

The Dolphins return to action when they play at Stetson, in their regular season finale, on Wednesday, Oct. 29. JU can clinch a spot in the A-Sun Tournament with a win over the Hatters.
