JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Sophomore forward Leah Gallegos scored a pair of goals to lead Florida State to a 3-1 win over the Dolphins in women's soccer action on Sunday evening at the Ashley Sports Complex. Freshman midfielder Kelly Rowland also found the back of the net for the Seminoles. Inge Heiremans (Tremelo, Belgium) scored the lone goal for the Dolphins, while Sarah Scalese (Brewster, Mass.) collected 10 saves in goal, which is the fourth highest save total by a goalkeeper in a single match for JU women's soccer.

Florida State (1-3) got on the board in the 13th minute when Gallegos took a long pass from India Trotter and scored from inside the box to make it 1-0. Heiremans tied the game for JU (1-2) in the 54th minute when she took a direct kick and booted the ball past the Seminole goalkeeper.

Less than nine minutes later, Teresa Rivera took a corner kick for FSU which was headed by Kristin Boyce, before Rowland attempted a header of her own which found the back of the net to make it 2-1. The Seminoles sealed the game in the 74th minute as Gallegos took a pass from Julia Schnugg on the left side and scored from five yards out. Florida State held a 13-1 advantage in shots on goal and led 14-0 in corner kicks.

The Dolphins return to action when they host Manhattan on Friday, Sept. 12 at 4 p.m. at the Ashley Sports Complex.
