JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Senior midfielder Inge Heiremans (Tremelo, Belgium) had two goals and two assists, while freshman midfielder Debbie Arias (Winter Haven, Fla.) added a pair of goals as the Dolphins defeated Troy State, 6-0, Friday at the Ashley Sports Complex. Sophomore forward Ranveig Aas-Hanssen (Skien, Norway) scored a goal to become the single-season record holder at JU with 18 goals, while dishing out an assist. The Dolphins improve to 6-7, and 4-1 in A-Sun play.

Arias gave JU an early 1-0 lead with an unassisted goal from 15 yards out on the left side in the sixth minute. Freshman midfielder Hilary Bricken (Ft. Myers, Fla.) tallied a goal in the 30th minute, receiving a pass from the left side by Heiremans and scoring inside the box to give the Dolphins a 2-0 halftime lead.

Aas-Hanssen scored her record-setting goal just 11 seconds into the second half off a pass from Heiremans, eclipsing the mark of 17 goals set by Trine Riis-Groven in 2000. Two minutes later, Heiremans took a pass from Aas-Hanssen and scored from 10 yards out, making it 4-0. In the 53nd minute, Heiremans tallied her second goal of the day on a penalty kick. Arias added the final score in the 83rd minute, scoring inside the box off a feed from freshman forward Jenny Borschel (St. Petersburg, Fla.).

Sophomore Amber Otto (DeLand, Fla.) and senior Sarah Scalese (Brewster, Mass.) split time in goal for the Dolphins and combined for the shutout.

The Dolphins return to action when they host A-Sun opponent UCF next Friday, Oct. 17 at 4 p.m.
