Natasha Harvey
Natasha Harvey, the most storied female student-athlete in JU history, is in her third season as an assistant coach for the JU track & field team.

Harvey helped continue the Dolphins championship tradition as JU sweep the A-Sun indoor and outdoor titles in the 2011 and 2012 campaigns. The 2012 outdoor title was the Dolphins seventh in a row, setting a new A-Sun record. In all, Harvey has had a hand in 12 of JU’s 14 conference championships.

Outside of the track, Harvey currently works as a residential life coordinator on the JU campus. She previously worked as a graduate assistant for student-athlete services when she came to campus in 2010.

As a student-athlete, Harvey was a big part in starting the success for the JU track & field program. She helped the Dolphins win the Atlantic Sun Indoor and Outdoor titles in each of her four seasons from 2005-08, while also earning a school record five All-America honors in the long jump (3- outdoor, 2 – indoor).

In all, Harvey secured five All-America honors in seven berths at the NCAA Championships, produced 18 NCAA regional qualifying marks, won 22 individual conference titles and recorded 35 all-conference honors. Harvey won “Most Outstanding Performer” meet honors at the A-Sun Championships nine times and competed with Team USA twice (2006, 2008). Prior to coming back to JU, she lived at the USA Olympic facility in Chula Vista, Calif. to train as a track hopeful for the 2012 games.

Academically, Harvey also excelled by earning the School of Education “Outstanding Exercise Science Student” at graduation, JU Women “Student of the Year”, second team ESPN the Magazine All-District and the Dolphins first A-Sun “Student-Athlete of the Year” accolades. She also received the Senior Student-Athlete Award at the athletics banquet and was tabbed as the A-Sun’s nominee for the NCAA “Women of the Year.”

Harvey graduated with a 3.58 overall GPA as an exercise science major in 2009. She secured her master’s degree in Sport Management and Leadership in 2012. <
