Women's outdoor track & field to compete in East Regionals
The JU women's outdoor track & field team resumes their season this weekend as seven Dolphins travel to Tallahassee, Fla. to compete in the NCAA East Regional Championship.

The Dolphins come into the meet fresh off their third consecutive Atlantic Sun Conference Outdoor Championship and will be competing for a chance to make it to the NCAA Championships in Des Moines, Iowa on June 11.

Junior's Natasha Harvey and Shaquania Lundy will both be competing in the long jump, while fellow junior Janel Grooms will run in the 800-meters. Four freshmen- Stephanie Brown, Danielle Davenport, J'Zotta Rolle and Unique Singleton make up the Dolphins 4x400-meter relay team that will be competing. Singleton will also compete individually in the 400-meters.

"We have many goals for this weekend's regional competition," said JU head coach Ron Grigg. "Natasha, Shaq and Janel have all been to NCAA Championships before and they realize they need to have solid performances if they want to earn a trip to Des Moines. I am also excited to see four freshmen have an opportunity to experience the greatest competitive challenge of their young career. We hope this is not only a great conclusion to this season, but also a spring board to next season for them."

The action begins with the long jump at 4 p.m. on Friday.
