Louise Kiernan to compete with Irish National Team
The JU track & field season may be done, but sophomore Louise Kiernan is still competing as she runs a leg of the 4x100-meter relay for the Irish National Team at the European Team Championships in Banska, Slovakia starting June 20th.

“It is always a great honor to be asked to represent your country in international competition,” said JU head coach Ron Grigg. “Louise has worked hard to be one of the best from her country. I am excited she will have the opportunity to continue her season in the Ireland uniform.”

The Dublin, Ireland native helped the Dolphins win five of their 4x100-meter relay attempts during the regular season, while also assisting JU to a conference title in the event with a school record time of 44.82.

At the NCAA Regionals, Kiernan was a part of the 4x100-meter relay that broke the school record again with a time of 44.62 to place fifth and earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships.

Other top outdoor performances for Kiernan included posting regional qualifying times in the 100-meter (11.53) and 200-meter (24.43) at the A-Sun Championships to help JU win its fourth consecutive title. She also won the 100-meter at the JU-UNF Duals (4/30), UNF Osprey Challenge (4/18) and Seminole Invitational (4/11).
