Tubbs Qualifies For Nationals In The 55

Gainesville, Fla. - Jacksonville freshman Monique Tubbs continued her amazing indoor season by qualifying for the NCAA championships in the 55 Meters on Thursday night at the Fast Times Meet hosted by the University of Florida. Tubbs, who ran an NCAA provisional time of 6.89 in the preliminaries, sprinted past the field in a time of 6.78 to qualify and win the prestigous 55 Meter championship. Her winning time was .02 under the automatic qualifying time set by the NCAA.

Senior Sara Robertson also competed at the meet, reaching an NCAA provisional mark of her own in the pole vault. Robertson cleared the bar at 12'01.50 to finish third in the competition.
