Track & field earns eighth straight USTFCCCA All-Academic team honor
The JU track & field team has earned a great reputation on the track in the last few seasons, but the Dolphins work in the classroom has well-exceeded that success after they received their eighth consecutive U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic team honor.
The Dolphins earned the accolade after posting a 3.177 team cumulative grade point average after the 2008-09 academic year.
“I am proud that our program has created a tradition of excellence in the classroom as well as on the track and in the field,” said JU head coach Ron Grigg. “Our team prides themselves as exemplifying the true essence of the term student-athlete. We are thankful for the support provided by Stephanie Metz, Director of Student-Athlete Development, and Stacey Oxlade our Academic Advisor.”
On July 13th, senior Natasha Harvey and junior Hillary Crook, as well as sophomores Danielle Davenport, Louise Kiernan, Susanne Klungtveit and Unique Singleton each received the individual academic honors from the USTFCCCA to represent the Dolphins.
