Track & field closes out first day of Pepsi Florida Relays
Sophomore Susanne Klungtveit recorded a new personal best in the 3,000-meter steeplechase to pace the JU track & field team on the first day of the Pepsi Florida Relays on Friday in Gainesville, Fla.

Klungtveit recorded a time of 11:19.05 (16th) in the steeplechase, while freshman Charlene Charles tallied a leap of 18’9.75” for 13th in the long jump.

In the hurdles, Charles ran a time of 14.49 to pace the Dolphins in the 100-meter and junior J’Zotta Rolle had a time of 14.77. Senior Tiffany Bromfield rounded out the group with a time of 15.19.

Rolle ran a time of 1:00.18 to finish 15th in the 400-meter hurdles.

Junior Unique Singleton finished 15th in the 400-meter with a time of 55.01, while junior Danielle Davenport had a 55.88. Junior Louise Kiernan ran a time of 12.00 (35th) in the 100-meter to close out the sprints for the Dolphins.

In the 1,500-meter relay, sophomore Anastasia Fokina led the Dolphins with a time of 4:35.41. Freshman Joane Pierre had a time of 4:40.21, while senior Alyssa Deal ran a time of 4:44.94.

Senior Ali Ritter tallied a time of 2:20.48 in the 800-meter and senior Elsabeth Goshu with a 17:44.86 (18th) in the 5,000-meter.

Junior Laura Phillips recorded a toss of 155’5” for 16th in the Hammer throw to close out JU’s day.
