Women's outdoor track & field to compete in Pepsi Florida Relays

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The JU women's outdoor track & field team will compete in their second event of the season on Friday as they travel to Gainesville, Fla. to take part in the Pepsi Florida Relays.

The Dolphins had a very successful start to the season at the FSU Relays last weekend.

Shaquania Lundy placed 15th in the 100-meter dash after recording a time of 12.19 and the Dolphins had three finishers crack the top 20 in the 400-meters in freshman Unique Singleton 56.79(12th), junior Janel Grooms 57.13(15th) and freshman Stephanie Brown 59.08(17th).

Junior Natasha Harvey, a 2008 indoor track & field All-American in the long jump, finished fifth in the 100-meter hurdles with a mark of 13.98, while three of her teammates joined her in the top 20. Sophomore Tiffany Bromfield finished eighth with a time of 14.41, junior Simone Clark took 10th with a time of 14.51 and freshman J'Zotta Rolle placed 18th after she ran a 14.78.

Bromfield also placed 10th in the shot put with a personal-record of 12.11 meters.
