Track & field has another solid day at Penn Relays
Seniors Danielle Davenport and Unique Singleton along with sophomores Joane Pierre and Bienna Freeman put together a good Sprint Medley Relay effort to represent the JU track & field team on Friday at the Penn Relays.

After a solid 4x400-meter relay on Thursday, the group ran a time of 3:57.21 in the Sprint Medley Relay to finish eighth behind such teams as LSU, Texas and Florida.

“Eighth place is a nice finish in the sprint medley,” said JU head coach Ron Grigg. “Conditions were not ideal, but they competed well and finished highly against excellent programs.”

JU will round out the meet tomorrow as one of eight teams in The Championship of America final for the 4x400-meter relay at 5:45 p.m. The Dolphins posted a school-record tying time of 3:39.18 (6th) yesterday to earn a spot in the main final. Fans will be able to see the relay highlights later that night on ESPN 2 at 8:30 p.m.
