Track & field rounds out the Penn Relays
The JU track & field team closed out a strong weekend by running the 4x400-meter relay in the College of America final at the Penn Relays on Saturday.

Senior Danielle Davenport (55.6), senior Unique Singleton (53.1), sophomore Joane Pierre (55.81) and sophomore Bienna Freeman (55.58) recorded a time of 3:40.12 to finish sixth in the main final.

“Today, we weren’t as sharp, but it was an honor to qualify for such a great section,” said JU head coach Ron Grigg. “This experience will help us next month at the NCAA first round.”

The group posted a school-record tying time 3:39.18 in the 4x400-meter relay on Thursday to earn one of the eights spot into the tonight’s final, while running a 3:57.21 (8th) in the Sprint Medley Relay yesterday.

The Dolphins will return to the track next week for two meets in the state of Florida. JU is at the UCF Twilight in Orlando on Thursday before finishing the week in Tallahassee at the Seminole Twilight on Saturday.
