Track & field records good day at UCF Twilight
Three new school records were set by the JU track & field team on Thursday at the UCF Twilight in the first of two meets this week.

Sophomore Akeela Bravo broke the program record in the discus with a throw of 150’10” to win the event. Senior Ronnisha Hall took first in the shot put with a new school best toss of 48’7.25”, while sophomore Joanne Pierre rounded out the school records with an 800-meter time of 2:07.26 (1st).

“It was a very good meet at UCF this evening,” said JU head coach Ron Grigg. “After having a strong regular season, it’s encouraging to see us still improving. We competed in six events and left with three school records so there is nothing to complain about. We look forward to more continued improvement at FSU this weekend.”

Senior Unique Singleton was third in the 200-meter with a 23.87, while Hall recorded a toss of 142’8” to take third in the discus.

In the 100-meter hurdles, junior Stacey Young ran a time of 13.80 for third place. Senior Danielle Davenport registered a time of 24.14 (7th), while senior Louise Kiernan had an 11.92 in the 100-meter.

The Dolphins wrap up the week on Saturday at the Seminole Twilight in Tallahassee, Fla.
