Track & field signs Kree Clark for the 2013 season
Coming off the heels of its seventh A-Sun outdoor title, the JU track & field team strengthened its throws group with the signing of Kree Clark (Conyers, Ga.) for the 2013 season.

Clark, a senior at Rockdale County High School, won the Georgia 4A State Championship in the discus with a toss of 140’10. She also place fourth in the shot put (39’10.75”). Clark is also an exceptional student as well after being ranked 14th out of 333 students in her senior class with a 3.875 GPA.

“Kree is a great addition to the throws group”, said JU assistant coach Bambi Carson who oversees the throws group. “She comes in with great performances not only in the throws but also excels in the classroom. It has been a great year for this group and the future looks bright with these two signees in Kree and Samantha Turner.”

Clark is the second thrower the Dolphins added for 2013 joining Samantha Turner (San Antonio, Texas) who signed in February.

The JU throws group was a key in securing its seventh straight A-Sun outdoor title on April 22 by accounting for 63 of the team’s 242 points. Junior Akeela Bravo recorded 28 points in winning two of the three throwing event to claim the meet’s Most Valuable Performer and Most Outstanding Field Performer honors.

The Dolphins will compete as a group on May 11 in Atlanta for the Georgia Tech Invitational.
