Dolphins Wrap Up Final Day of Florida Relays

GAINESVILLE, Fla.—The JU track & field team closed out the final day of the Pepsi Florida Relays on Saturday.

Sophomore Sally Marie Futch turned in a nice performance in the hammer throw.  She had a 154-05 toss which was good for 19th overall.

Shanique Walker jumped 38-08.25 in the triple jump to finish 20th.

The relay team of Shadaey Campbell, Courtney Walker, Shanique Walker, and LaTonya Payne finished in 21st in the 4x100m relay in a time of 46.16.

The Dolphins closed out the meet with the 4x400m relay team of Payne, Courtney Walker, Campbell, and Bienna Freeman finishing in 19th place with a time of 3:42.03.

“Today was a positive step forward,” said JU head coach Ron Grigg.  “Sally Marie is showing consistency. I was pleased with our first attempt at the relays this season. We are moving in the right direction.”

Jacksonville returns to action April 12 when it travels to Athens, Ga. to take part in the Georgia Bulldog Heptathlon.
