T&F Eager for Ninth Straight Title
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville University track & field team will travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. this Friday Feb. 21 to try and earn its ninth straight Atlantic Sun Indoor Championship. The two-day meet is hosted by the Atlantic Sun Conference at the JDL Fast Track.
The Fins have excelled at the conference championship meet year in and year out, winning every title since the beginning in 2006.
Up to this point in the season, the Dolphins have competed in three indoor events, the Wake Forest Invitational, the Jimmy Carnes Invitational and the Samford Invitational, where the Fins earned 10 individual wins and three new school records. At their last meet at Samford on Feb. 8, Jacksonville's 4x400-meter relay team, junior Shanique Walker and senior Svenja Meyer all recorded bests.
“All of the preparation is complete,” said Head Coach Ron Grigg. “Each individual athlete is ready to make their best contribution to a team outcome.”
