Dolphins Sign Local Track Star

November 15, 1999

Jacksonville, Fla. - Jacksonville University announced the early period signing of Wolfson High School senior Todd Hamm (Jacksonville, Fla.) to a Track & Field scholarship starting in the Fall of 2000. Jacksonville assistant track coach Ron Grigg said the following after learning that Hamm would accept the University's scholarship offer, "We are excited to get a local talent like Todd to stay in his hometown...he (Hamm) is one of the top 25 high school intermediate hurdlers in the nation."

While at Wolfson, Hamm placed second in the 300 Intermediate Hurdles at the 1999 Florida 5A State Meet in a time of 38.07. Coach Grigg continued with the following comments, "Wolfson and their coaches have a great tradition of developing national class track athletes. We are especially proud to have one of their student-athletes commit to JU...we want to see Jacksonville Track & Field become the first choice of local talent, and Hamm can be the leader in this area."

The Dolphins are currently preparing for the upcoming 1999-2000 indoor track & field season.
