Women's Cross Country Finishes Fifth at Disney Classic

ORLANDO, Fla. - Senior Adriana Campos finished fifth overall, while the Jacksonville University women's cross country team finished in fifth place at the Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic V Saturday morning.

The women's team finished the 5-K race with 128 total points. Campos led the Dolphins with an 18:09 time. April Nudo-Patterson, a senior, was right behind with a 18:39 time and a 18th place finish, while senior Asjah Muhammad came in 30th with a 18:56 mark.

Other JU scorers were Ayesha Muhammad (40th, 19:11) and Chelsea Knight (55th, 19:35). Also participating in the competition were Alexis Wieroniey (31st, 21:25), Jennifer Takach (105th, 20:46) and Kate Benson (156th, 22:03). Virginia Tech won the Classic with 33 total points, followed by UCF (78) and Florida Southern (102). Rollins College rounded out the top 10 of the competition with 326 points.

The Dolphins return to action when they travel to Tampa, Fla. on Oct. 13 for the USF Florida Intercollegiate Cross Country Championships.
