Women's Cross Country Finishes 15th at District Championships

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Jacksonville University women's cross country team finished in 15th place at the 2000 NCAA South Region Championships Saturday morning, hosted by the University of Alabama at the Harry Pritchett Golf Course.

The Dolphins finished the 6,000-meter race with 376 total points. Senior Adriana Campos (Lake Park, Fla.) led the Dolphins with a 33rd-place finish in 21:58, with senior April Nudo-Patterson (Jacksonville, Fla.) right behind with an 22:58 time to finish 64th.

Other JU scorers were Chelsea Knight (Ypsilanti, Minn.), Alexis Wieroniey (Owings, Md.) and Jennifer Takach (Tewksburg, Mass.). Knight came in 88th place with a 23:29 time, while Wieroniey finished 121st (25:18) and Takach came in 124th (25:43).

South Florida won the District Championships with 71 total points, followed by Georgia Tech (107), Georgia (107), Florida (130) and Florida State (134).

The District III Cross Country Championships concluded the 2000 season for the women's team.
