Track & Field Has Strong Showing At The Masters Inn/JU Invitational

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The track and field team placed 19 individuals and four relay teams fourth or better in their events at the Masters Inn/JU Invitational Saturday at the Ashley Sports Complex.
Safiya Davy (Mitchville, Md.) won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.02. Davy placed fourth in the 200-meter dash (25.31), behind Andrea Pressley's (Temple Hills, Md.) third-place finish of 25.31. Pressley turned in a third-place finish in the shot put with a distance of 12.24 meters.
Lisa Lee (Roswell, Ga.) placed second in two events, the long jump (5.61 meters) and triple jump (11.44 meters).
Tiffany Wright (Lauderdale Lakes, Fla.) crossed the finish line of the 100-meter dash with a second-place time if 12.18.
In relay action, JU's women finished first in the 4x100 meter race (46.68) and third in the 4x400 meter relay (4:02.64). The Dolphins' men squad placed second in the 4x100 meter relay (41.30) and third in the 4x400 meter relay (3:26.20).
Kellie Roberts (Lauderdale Lakes, Fla.) finished first in the men's triple jump with a distance of 13.9 meters, and Cory Donnell (Jacksonville, Fla.) placed third in the high jump (1.78 meters).
Kenneth Baxter (New York, N.Y.) crossed the finish line fourth in the 100-meter dash (10.93), as did Rowan Irons (Durban, South Africa) in the 400-meter dash (49.29).
The Dolphins return to action on March 17 when they travel to Miami to compete in the Hurricane Classic.
