TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Sophomore track standout Andrea Pressley set a personal best with 5015 points in the heptathlon as she won the event Thursday afternoon at the FSU Relays hosted by Florida State University.

Pressley, who finished second in the shot put and third in the javelin last season at the Trans America Athletic Conference Championship Meet, set a personal record in the heptathlon by 500 points. The win was the second heptathlon title of her collegiate career as Pressley won the Baldwin Wallace Twilight Meet last season in Berea, Ohio.

"Andrea continues to show improvement," assistant track and field coach Phil Alicea said. "Her hard work has certainly paid off, and we expect some great things from her in the very near future."

During the two-day event, Pressley completed the 100-meter dash, high jump, shot put and 200-meter dash on Wednesday before competing in the long jump, javelin and 800-meter run on Wednesday.

In the running events, Pressley posted a 14.76 in the 100, a 25.22 in the 200 and a 2:27.52 in the 800. In the field events, she cleared 5-feet, inch and a quarter in the high jump, threw the shot 45-feet, 10 and one half inches, jumped 15-feet, 10 and a half inches in the long jump and hurled the javelin 111-feet, four inches.

The Dolphins continue play in the FSU Relays Friday through Saturday with the individual events.
