Monique Tubbs, Men's Relay Team Earn Wins In Final Day Of Florida Relays

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Monique Tubbs (Holbrook, Mass.) placed first in the women's 100-meter dash, as did the men's 4x100 meter relay team, Saturday afternoon as the track and field team completed competition in the Florida Relays in Gainesville, Fla.

Tubbs, who won the NCAA Indoor 60-meter dash championship earlier this month, finished ahead of the competition with a time of 11.67.

The men's relay team, of Brent Alexander (Tampa, Fla.), Jon Underhill (Plantation, Fla.), Kenneth Baxter (New York, N.Y.) and Boshawn Mack (Clearwater, Fla.) crossed the finish line with their best time of the year with a run of 40.39.

The women's 4x100 team of Andrea Pressley (Temple Hills, Md.), Tubbs, Tiffany Wright (Lauderdale Lakes, Fla.) and Safiya Davy (Mitchville, Md.) turned in another season best, with a time of 45.47, good enough for a fifth-place finish overall.

In women's competition from earlier in the week, Davy finished third in the 100-meter hurdles (14.17), while Pressley placed sixth in the 400-meter dash (56.24). Underhill, in the men's 100-meter dash, crossed the finish line in fifth-place with a time of 11.01.

The Dolphins return to action on April 6, when they travel to Tampa, Fla., to compete in the University of South Florida Invitational.
