Runners Pick Up Four First-Place Finishes At Seminole Twilight Meet

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The JU track team picked up four first-place finishes in the final day of competition at the Seminole Twilight Meet at Mike Long Track on the campus of Florida State.
In the women's 4x100-meter relay, the squad of sophomores Andrea Pressley (Temple Hills, Md.) and Monique Tubbs (Holbrook, Mass.) and freshmen Tiffany Wright (Lauderdale Lakes, Fla.) and Safiya Davy (Mitchville, Md.) ran to a first-place finish, crossing the finish line at 45.59. Pressley provisionally qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships with her first place finish in the heptathlon earlier in the competition.
Tubbs, who has provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 100-meter and 200-meter dash, placed second in both events with times of 11.66 and 23.78, respectively. Davy placed second in the 100-meter hurdles at 13.39.
Senior Adriana Campos (Lake Park, Fla.) won the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:57.66, while fellow senior April Nudo-Patterson (Jacksonville, Fla.) came in fifth-place at 19:05.26.
In men's action, freshman Kenneth Baxter (New York, N.Y.) won the 200-meter dash (21.06) and came in second-place in the 100-meter dash (10.54). Baxter was named TAAC Freshman-of-the-Year in April after winning the 100 and 200-meter dashes.
The men's 4x100-meter relay team, comprised of junior Brent Alexander (Tampa, Fla.), senior Jon Underhill (Plantation, Fla.), Baxter, and sophomore Boshawn Mack (Clearwater, Fla.), crossed the finish line in first-place with a time 40.65.
Mack placed fifth in the 100-meter dash (10.86) and sixth in the 200-meter dash (21.61).
The Dolphins return to action on May 18, when they travel to Atlanta, Ga. to compete in the Georgia Tech Invitational.
