Dani Ivanochko Sets New JU Long Jump Record

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Sophomore Dani Ivanochko (La Ronge Saskatchewan, Canada) broke the JU women's long jump record three times before setting the new mark and finishing second with a jump of 19'6 1/4" at the Snowbird Invitational held in Tallahassee. Current Dolphin jumper Lysa Lee held the previous record of 19'0 3/4".

Ivanochko, who won the long jump competition at the Hampton Inn-JU Invitational with a personal best jump of 18'10 3/4", broke the record on her third jump in the preliminaries, with a leap of 19'11/2". She improved on that mark with her jump of 19'6 1/4" on her first jump of the finals.

Former record-holder Lysa Lee (Roswell, Ga.) finished seventh in the competion, with a jump of 18'5 1/4".

The Dolphins return to action on Wednesday, March 20, when they compete at the FSU Relays in Tallahassee.
