Women's Cross Country Finishes Second at Coach "O" Invitational

TROY, Ala. - Freshman Lindsay Moffenbier (McDonough, Ga.) won her second-straight meet to lead the Dolphins, who placed three runners in the top 10 of the 5K race, to a second-place finish at the annual Troy State University Coach "O" Invitational at the Trojan Oaks golf course Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Tony Stother (Jacksonville, Fla.) was the men's top finisher as they finished seventh.
Moffenbier, Christina Bensi (Troy, N.Y.) and Tamsin Anstey (N. Vancouver, B.C.) all finished in the top ten for the Dolphins, who finished second behind host Troy State with a score of 52, while freshman Rachel Garvin (Denton, Texas) finished 17th, Chelsea Knight (Ocean Grove, N.J.) 19th and Laura Winn (Wilmington, Mass.) 26th.
For the men, Strother was JU's top finisher at 29th, while Chris Emerson, Brian Boone (St. Petersburg, Fla.), Montia Rice (Folson, N.Y.) and Sean Duffey (Margate, N.J.) finished 42nd, 43rd, 44th and 47th, respectively.
The JU women's cross country team returns to action Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Florida Intercollegiate in Gainesville and both teams return Friday, Oct. 11, as the Dolphins host the JU Invitational.
