Women's Cross Country Finishes Sixth at Atlantic Sun Championship

TROY, Ala. - The Jacksonville University women's cross country team finished sixth, while the JU men placed 12th Saturday morning at the Atlantic Sun Cross Country Championship at the Trojan Oaks Golf Course. Freshman Lindsey Moffenbier (McDonough, Ga.) was the top-finisher for the women's team, placing ninth out of 91 competitors, as JU had four runners place in the top 40 in the 5K race. Sophomore Tony Strother (Jacksonville/Bishop Kenny) paced the men finishing 73rd in the 8K race.
Senior Tamsin Anstey (N. Vancouver, B.C.) finished 28th for the Dolphins, who finished sixth in last year's championship hosted by Georgia State, while sophomore Christina Bensi (Troy, N.Y.) finished 38th. Freshmen Karen Edmonds (Green Cove Springs, Fla.) and Jennifer Tyler (Jupiter, Fla.) finished 39th and 48th, respectively, in their first A-Sun championship.
Freshman Ryan Montagna (Auburn, N.Y.) was the top-finisher for the men behind Strother at 79th.
