Track's Monique Tubbs Finishes 8th at Boston Indoor Games

BOSTON, Mass. - Jacksonville University senior sprinter Monique Tubbs (Boston, Mass.) finished eighth in the 60-meter dash Saturday afternoon at the Boston Indoor Games with a time of 7.48 at the Reggie Lewis Track and Field Center in Boston. Tubbs, a three-time All-American, won the 55-meter at the Husky Invitational hosted by Northeastern University yesterday at the Reggie Lewis Center.

Savatheda Fynes of the Bahamas won the 60-meter with a time of 7.16, while Angela Williams, the 2002 60-meter NCAA Indoor National Champion finished second with a time of 7.19. Along with Williams, three members of the 2000 US Olympic 4x100 meter relay were also included in the star-studded field. Tubbs, the 2001 60-meter NCAA Indoor National Champion and a product of Boston Latin High School, was returning home to the same track she captured the 60-meter state and national high school championships.

Tubbs and the entire Dolphin team return to action at the Gator Indoor Invitational Sunday, Feb. 9 in Gainesville, Fla., at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center.
