Track Climbs to No. 20 in Trackwire Top 25

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville University track team has moved up to No. 20 in the latest Trackwire Women's Top 25 poll. The Dolphins received eight points and share the No. 20 ranking with Rice, Mississippi State, Washington State, Ohio State and Kansas State. Senior sprinter Monique Tubbs (Boston, Mass.) retained the No. 2 ranking in the 60-meter Dandy Dozen as she prepares for the USA Track and Field Championships this weekend at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.

Tubbs, who is the 2001 60-meter NCAA Indoor National Champion, set a new school record with a time of 6.75 in the 55-meter at the Gator Invitational Feb. 9. Tubbs will be competing in the 60-meter dash at the USA T&F Championships, which can be seen live on ESPN2 Saturday from 6-7:30 p.m.

JU returns to action on Saturday when it hosts the 6th annual Hampton Inn/JU Invitational at the Ashley Sports Complex. The Dolphins will host Atlantic Sun foes Florida Atlantic and Jacksonville State, as well as Georgia Southern, Charleston Southern, Voorhees College, Morris Brown, Warner Southern, Roanoke College and Webber International.
