Women's Cross Country Places Fifth out of 14 Teams At Stetson Hatter Invitational

DELAND, Fla. - Sophomore Lindsey Moffenbier (McDonough, Ga.) finished fifth out of 113 runners, while sophomore Karen Edmonds (Green Cove Springs, Fla.) placed 20th in the 5K race to help lead the Dolphins to a fifth place finish out of 14 schools at the Stetson Hatter Invitational Friday afternoon in DeLand. The University of Miami won the team title for the women with a low score of 50 points, while Claudia Beitel of Florida Atlantic won the individual title with a time of 18:30.

UCF took home the men's title with a score of 50 points, edging Miami, which finished with 56 points. Amon Rotich of Warner Southern finished first in the 8K race for the men (25:46). Freshman Jason Coates (Jacksonville/Fruita Monument HS (Colo.) finished 70th overall with a time of 31:00.

The Dolphins return to action when they compete in the A-Sun Championships on Saturday, Nov. 1.
