Track's Andrea Pressley Ranked 10th in Pentathlon by Trackwire

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jacksonville University senior Andrea Pressley (Upper Marlboro, Md.) is No. 10 in the pentathlon in the latest ranking of the Trackwire Dandy Dozen, joining athletes from Georgia, Vanderbilt, Stanford and Kansas State atop the national rankings.

Pressley set a new school record and took 10th place in the shot put at the Florida Intercollegiates on Jan. 17 with a throw of 14.05 meter.

Pressley competed in the 2003 NCAA Championships as the 21st seed in the heptathlon, finishing the meet ranked 13th overall. During the season, she was ranked as high as No. 21 in the heptathlon after five top-10 finishes, while earning Atlantic Sun Conference Track Athlete-of-the-week honors on Mar. 20 after placing fifth in the 100-meter hurdles, fifth in the shot put and 11th in the high jump at the Florida State Snowbird Invitational.

Pressley finished 16th in the 2001 NCAA Championships after earning a No. 22 national ranking at the end of the season.

The Dolphins return to action at the Clemson Pentathlon in Clemson, S.C., on Friday, Jan. 30.
