Andrea Pressley Named A-Sun Track Athlete of the Week

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Senior Andrea Pressley (Upper Marlboro, Md.) was named Atlantic Sun Performer of the Week after setting an NCAA Provisional Qualifying score in the heptathlon at the Coca Cola Florida Relays. Pressley finished with 5,368 points after finishing first in the 100m hurdles (14.45), 200m dash (24.66) and long jump (19'05"), while placing among the top-three in 6-of-7 events. Her score marks the third-best NCAA heptathlon total this season.

Pressley also placed second in the shot put (44'00") and javelin (122'11"), third in the 800m (2:27.51) and ninth in the high jump (4'10"). Pressley's long jump was also a career-best. Pressley was ranked as high as 10th in the nation by Trackwire earlier this year. Pressley finished 13th overall in the heptathlon at the 2003 NCAA Championships after entering the competition as the No. 21 seed. Pressley also finished 16th in the heptathlon at the 2001 NCAA Championships.
