Andrea Pressley Ranked 10th Nationally in Heptathlon

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jacksonville University senior Andrea Pressley (Upper Marlboro, Md.) is No. 10 in the heptathlon in the latest ranking of the Trackwire Dandy Dozen, joining athletes from Georgia, Arizona State, South Carolina and Kansas State atop the national rankings.

Pressley won the heptathlon with an NCAA provisional qualifying score of 5,368 points at the Coca Cola Florida Relays in March, finishing first in the 100m hurdles (14.45), 200m dash (24.66) and long jump (19'05"), while placing among the top-three in 6-of-7 events. She also placed second in the shot put (44'00") and javelin (122'11"), third in the 800m (2:27.51) and ninth in the high jump (4'10"). Pressley's long jump was also a career-best.

Pressley competed in the 2003 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships as the 21st seed in the heptathlon, finishing the meet ranked 13th overall. She also finished 16th in the 2001 NCAA Outdoor Championships after earning a No. 22 national ranking at the end of the season.

The Dolphins are preparing for the Atlantic Sun Outdoor Championships Friday and Saturday, hosted by UCF in Orlando.
