Cross Country Inks Danielle Coyle to Letter of Intent

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville University cross country/track and field program has signed Danielle Coyle (New Port Richey, Fla.) to a National Letter of Intent, cross country coach Jose Fernandez announced Monday.

"Danielle will contribute a great deal to our program next year," coach Fernandez said on Monday. "She has the desire to improve and exhibits tremendous potential with her efforts this season."

Coyle finished 27th at the Florida Class-3A state cross country finals with a time of 20:00, while turning in a time of 5:16 in the 1600-meter run on two separate occasions. Coyle's other top times include finishing the 800-meter run in 2:23 and running the 400-meter dash in 1:02.5.

JU women's cross country placed seventh at the Atlantic Sun Championship this year, posting three top-five finishes, including a second-place finish at the UCF Duals and a third-place finish at the Georgia State Invitational. The JU track and field team took fourth at this year's Atlantic Sun Outdoor Track and Field Championship.
