Cross country teams runs season-best times at Atlantic Sun Championship

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Sophomore Fallon Heffernan (Neptune Beach, Fla./Fletcher) placed ninth and records the fourth-best time in school history to earn a spot on the All-Conference team, while senior Lindsey Moffenbier recorded the 11th-best time in school history as the Jacksonville men's and women's cross country teams put up strong showing at the Atlantic Sun Championships Saturday morning in Buies Creek, N.C. The women placed seventh and the men finished 11th, but all Dolphin runners set a season-best today.

"I have been fortunate enough to work with individual all americans and national champions, but today's team effort is the best I have ever been involved with," said head coach Ron Grigg.

On the women's side Heffernan finished with a time of 18:08 to pace all Dolphin runners. Moffenbier finished 14th with a time of 18:36. Senior Rachel Garvin ran a career-best time of 19:05 to rank 26th. Sophomore Danielle Coyle ranked 56th (20:31), while sophomore Stacey Ollar placed 57th with 20:35 to each earn their season-best this year.

Eash of the men's team runners also set season-best times. Sophomore Jeff Wolf finished with a season-best time of 29:08 to place 62nd to lead the Dolphin men. Sophomore Trebor DeVerter finished 69th with his season-best time of 30:05, while sophomore Charlie Allen ranked 72nd (31:12). Senior John Hoffman placed 75th with a time of 32:36. Junior John Hoffman finished with his season-best time of 33:19 to place 77th.
