Natasha Harvey ranks 12th in the long jump on's Dandy Dozen

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - After breaking the school-record in the long jump for two straight weeks, freshman Natasha Harvey earned a No. 12 ranking on the Dandy Dozen as announced by the website on Friday.

"The trackwire ranking for Natasha is nice recognition," said JU head coach Ron Grigg. "Those rankings often give more merit to larger schools with bigger reputations or to veteran athletes. Natasha's consistently outstanding jumping, even as a freshman, has made many people stand up and take notice. This is just the beginning for her." is a power poll that ranks the top 12 athletes in each NCAA event. Harvey earns the ranking in the long jump after producing stellar jumps in the last two meets.

At the Atlantic Sun Outdoor Championships on April 15, she won the long jump with a school and conference championship record mark of 20'9" (6.32m).

Harvey broke the school-record in the long jump again at the LSU Alumni Gold Invitational on April 22. She produced a regional qualifying jump of 20'10" (6.35m) to finish in third place.

Her jump at the LSU Alumni Gold Invitational is now tied for 10th on the NCAA national list, fifth in the east region and second on the World Juniors list for athletes 19 and under.

This season, Harvey has also qualified for regionals in the 100-meter hurdles, 400-meter hurdles and 4X100-meter relay.

The Dolphins will race again on Saturday, May 6, in Tallahassee, Fla. at the FSU Twilight.
