ATLANTA, Ga. - The Jacksonville University track and field team broke their fifth school record of the 2006 season with a regional qualifying mark in the 4X400-meter relay during their final meet of the outdoor season at the Yellow Jacket Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

"Our goal was to qualify the 4x4 for regionals and we did just that," said JU head Coach Ron Grigg. "Now it is back to work in preparation for regionals and nationals."

Ashley Williams, Janita Ocana, Natasha Harvey and Janel Grooms teamed up in the 4X400-meter relay to produce a regional qualifying mark of 3:41.04 to finish in third place.

This season, the Dolphins have tallied 11 regional qualifying times, while also setting the school record in the long jump, 400-meter dash, 400-meter hurdles and hammer throw.

Sophomore Fallon Heffernan helped the Dolphins set the right tone by finishing with a season-best 11:00.61 in the 3000-meter steeplechase on Friday night.

The Dolphins will race again starting Saturday, May 26 in Greensboro, N.C. as they compete in the NCAA East Regionals.
