INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.- - Two days after winning the long jump at the U.S. Junior Track Championships, freshman Natasha Harvey places seventh in the same event at the AT&T U.S. Outdoor Track Championships on Saturday afternoon in Indianapolis, Ind.

"Tasha really had a great weekend," said JU head coach Ron Grigg. "She jumped well to win the junior meet and then improved her game to compete with the best professionals the country has to offer".

Harvey produced the second best jump of her career with a 21'4.75" (6.52m) to place seventh in the long jump as the only collegian in the finals.

"Her making the finals as a 19 year old is not only a phenomenal accomplishment, but it a great experience for her to learn from for the future," said Grigg. "She believes she can jump with the best in the world and she knows that she just has to keep training and maturing."

On June 22, she won the long jump at the U.S. Junior Track Championships to earn a spot on the U.S. team in August for the World Junior Track Championship in Beijing, China. Harvey recorded jumps of 21 feet (6.40m) and 20'8.5" (6.31m) to win a tiebreaker in the event.

Harvey will return home to New Haven, Conn. for July and will be joining the U.S. junior team in early August for a training camp before they depart for the World Juniors Championships in Beijing China.
